At a Glance
Before you read the full policy, here is the honest summary — no fine print hiding anywhere:
- No account needed. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.
- Your data stays with you. Alarms, timers and settings live in your own browser, not on our servers.
- We can't see your alarms. We don't collect them, sell them, or build a profile around them.
- Ads may use cookies. If advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies — but you can opt out any time, and we explain how below.
- You're in control. Clear your browser data and it's all gone. We never had a copy.
If that's all you needed, you're done. If you want the details — which vary slightly by region and by what feature you use — read on.
Who This Policy Applies To
This Privacy Policy covers how Vclock (vclock.live) handles information when you use the alarm clock, timer, stopwatch, world clock and any other tool on this website. It applies to visitors from everywhere — India, the US, the EU, the UK, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and anywhere else Vclock reaches.
Where local privacy laws require specific rights or disclosures — such as the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, California's CCPA/CPRA, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — those rights are respected and described in the sections below.
What Stays on Your Device
For Vclock to work, a small amount of information has to be stored in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to us. It includes:
- Your alarms — the time, label, repeat days, and whether each alarm is switched on or off.
- A running timer — its end time, so that if you refresh the page or accidentally close the tab, the timer can pick up where it left off.
- Your preferences — light or dark mode, and whether you prefer a 12-hour or 24-hour clock.
You can delete any alarm inside the app whenever you like, and you can wipe everything by clearing site data or storage in your browser settings. Once cleared, it's gone — because we never had a copy on our side in the first place.
Permissions We Ask For (All Optional)
A few features need your browser's permission to work properly. None of them are required to use the site, and you can deny or revoke any of them from your browser settings at any time:
- Notifications — only used to show a message on your screen when an alarm or timer finishes, if you allow it.
- Screen wake lock — only used when you tap "Keep screen on," to stop your phone or laptop screen from turning off while an alarm is active.
- Sound and vibration — used to play the alert when an alarm or timer ends.
We also read your device's time and time zone so the clock shows the correct time for you. That's it. We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, photos, or precise location — and we have no reason to.
What We Will Never Do
Sometimes it's clearer to say what we don't do than what we do. Here's a short list we take seriously:
- We will never sell your personal information — to anyone, for any reason.
- We will never require you to create an account just to set an alarm.
- We will never read your alarms, labels, or timer names on our servers, because they never reach our servers.
- We will never use your microphone or camera to listen in or watch you.
- We will never hide the fact that ads are on the site or how they work.
If any of that ever changes — and we have no plan to make it change — we will update this policy first and make the change obvious on the site.
Hosting and Technical Logs
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like almost every hosting provider, Cloudflare may process technical information — such as your IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested — to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and keep it online. That processing happens on Cloudflare's side, governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy, not ours. We don't receive this data in a form that identifies you personally.
Cookies
Vclock itself does not set cookies. Your preferences and alarms are stored using browser local storage, not cookies. However, our hosting provider may use technical cookies for security and performance, and our advertising partners (when advertising is enabled) may use cookies as described in the next section.
Advertising and Analytics
Vclock is free to use and is supported by advertising. When ads are shown on the site, they may be served by Google AdSense or similar third-party advertising networks. These networks use cookies and similar technologies to display ads and, in some cases, to personalise them based on your browsing behaviour across sites.
Here is what that means for you, in plain terms:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies to serve ads on this site.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu (for EU visitors).
- If you are in the EU, UK, or a region with similar rules, you will be shown a consent banner before personalised ads are served, and you can choose to accept or decline without affecting your access to the site.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not receive your name, email, or any data that identifies you from our advertising partners. We may use basic, privacy-friendly analytics to understand which pages are useful and which are not — never to identify individual visitors.
Your Rights Under GDPR, CCPA and DPDP
Where local laws grant you specific data rights, Vclock respects them. Depending on where you live, these may include the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data, and to withdraw consent for personalised advertising at any time.
- EU & UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, and object to processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
- California (CCPA / CPRA): You have the right to know what data is collected, to delete it, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.
- India (DPDP Act, 2023): You have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, to grievance redressal, and to nominate someone to exercise your rights on your behalf.
In practice, most of these rights are easy to exercise because we hold almost no data on you. If you want to delete what's stored in your browser, simply clear the site data. For anything handled by Cloudflare or our advertising partners, reach out via our Contact page and we'll help you find the right place to make the request.
Children's Privacy
Vclock is a general-audience tool aimed at adults and students, and it is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will act on it promptly.
Links to Other Websites
Some pages may link to other websites — for example, to Google's ad settings, a Cloudflare policy page, or a useful resource. We don't control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. If you click through to them, please read their own policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature or change an advertising partner. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last changed. If the change is significant, we will make it obvious on the site — not hide it in a paragraph at the bottom.
Contact Us
If anything on this page is unclear, or if you have a question we haven't answered, please reach out via the Contact page. We're a small team, we read every message, and we genuinely try to reply. If your question is about a specific data right you'd like to exercise, mention that in your email and we'll point you to the fastest route.
