About the time calculator
This time calculator works with hours, minutes and seconds. It has three tools: add or subtract several durations, find the time between a start and an end time, and add time to a clock time to see what time it will be.
Which tool should I use?
- Add or subtract time: total your work hours for the week, or take a break away from a longer task.
- Time between: how long a shift or meeting lasted. Enter a break in minutes and it is taken off. An end time earlier than the start counts as the next day.
- Clock time: what time is it 2 hours 15 minutes after 9:00, or 45 minutes before a flight.

Questions
How do I add hours and minutes together?+
Enter each duration on its own row, for example 2 hours 30 minutes and 1 hour 45 minutes, and the total appears at once: 4 hours 15 minutes. Minutes above 59 are carried into hours for you.
How do I subtract time?+
Tap the plus sign on a row to turn it into a minus. The row is then taken away from the total. The first row always counts as positive.
How do I calculate hours worked with a break?+
Open Time between, enter the start and end time and the break in minutes. The result shows the time worked as hours and minutes, and as decimal hours, which is handy for a timesheet.
What are decimal hours?+
Decimal hours write minutes as a fraction of an hour. 7 hours 30 minutes is 7.5 hours, and 7 hours 15 minutes is 7.25 hours.
Can the result go past 24 hours?+
Yes. In Add or subtract time, long totals are shown in days and hours, and also as total hours, minutes and seconds.
